•••• A book that you'll
see frequently. The artwork is quite nice, featuring mostly Kaiba,
Yami (with some Y Mutou, Jouno, Isis, Mai and even an appearance
by Otogi thrown in). Quite a bit of talking, so it's ideal for
someone who's learning Japanese but not ready to tackle a story
or novel. My favorite page is actually an impishly sweet sketch
of Kaiba and Yami, wearing pajamas and playing chess in bed. Isis,
Mai, Otogi and Anzu also appear. (A25)

•••••••••••••••• Evil Eye's 11th book is a rare
departure - a KaiYami title. ~ Starts off with Kaiba getting a
soda from a vending machine. Perhaps school? Yami appears, ticks
him off, next thing you know Kaiba has pushed Yami down onto
a futon in the middle of the room (hm, my school lounge didn't
have a king-size bed~!) Kaiba starts giving Yami a hand job.
When Yami tries a little tenderness, Kaiba seems to get irritated
and continues. Yami tries again, Kaiba resists, they have sex
...then a break for 4 pages of sketches. The second piece, which
is different outfits (at least for Yami) seems to continue the
theme, although it looks like at the end Yami finally says something
to really get Kaiba's goat. It ends, as so many KaiYami doujins
begin - with smirking and yelling. (A50)

One of Kashi's lushest books, this was apparently the result of
some sort of fan poll. Oversized pages, a foldout poster of Kaiba
with his BEWD, plus full color pages of Kaiba dressed in a SS
uniform, shirtless swigging gin in red sharkskin pants and a pink
fur coat ... inside, the sex is fast and furious. The Kashi Kaiba
is an uberseme, make no mistake; he's also one of the most beautifully
drawn, virile Kaibas in an doujinshi I've seen.Two stories, "asap"
and "wild heaven" ... the latter story is Yami in soul
room, he is given attention by several Kaibas. Several pages with
guest artists, Kaiba astrological profiles. One person did Kaiba
as a Scorpio, holding a BEWD plushie. (A20)

"Copy books" are previews of pieces that doujinshika
are working on. They're usually sold or given away at conventions.
(If you like you can think of them as "limited edition short
stories."). Usually photocopied onto large sheets that are
folded in half (to make "double-sided pages) and then stapled
into a cover. ~ This piece by Kashi-@ YGO was later collected
into their anthology of copybooks, "Rough Replica".
This copy book version doesn't have the applied textures and washes
of the final, but it does have a page of written commentary. (A47)

lots of yelling and posing. Jouno dreaming, but of who ...? The
highlight for me was a very nicely done "love duelist"
flow chart … answer yes/no questions to get to Yami, Jounouchi,
Yuugi, Otogi, Kaiba, Malik, YBakura, Haga, Pegasus or Croquet.
The chart of course implies m/m relationships, so you might want
to stretch the rating and count it as an indirect level 2 …Rishid,
Honda, Mai, Mokuba, and YMalik also appear. (A21)

crinkled metallic dust jacket with its stylized Yami and Kaiba,
you know that this 3rd volume conclusion of the Ragunaroc (Lug
Naroku) epic will be special. Although the title's sometimes given
as "Lotus" or "Lotus Lotus" the both this
and the previous volume in the series call this third part "Godspell"
~
A book this big demands a big cast. Apparently set almost entire in AE, in addition to Kaiba and Yami/Atemu, we see Thief King Bakura, Mana, Mahaado, Pegasus (an AE version who seems to have both eyes), Isis, Shadi, Marik, (and apparently the God cards, and the dragons as well since the "cast list" has Osyrus, Redeyes Black Dragon, Oberisk, Death Voltgulf, Lar, and Blue Eyes White Dragon).
And what can I say about the art? Many of the pages here
are so beautifully, dramatically composed and drawn they're almost
frameable. If you only have room in your collection for one Kashi
title - and prefer romance and drama to comedy - this is the one
to get, IMO.

like many circles, has multiple modes. One is grand angsty melodramatic
romance; the other is manic melodramatic comedy. This is a bit
of both. The first, brief story, very silly, is set in Yuugi's
soul room, which is becoming rather crowded. (Oh and according
to my wonderful translator, the trash days for the soul room are
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. How tidy~!) The second, main story
is set at a spa, where Yami for some reason begins to channel
the spirit of a courtesan from the Edo period. Pegasus shows up
and hits on him, er, her, and wackiness ensues.... the entire
cast in kimono, Yami in geisha regalia ... what fun~! (A22)

have" for Kashi fans and those interested in the artistic
process in general. This limited edition anthology (the only one
I've ever seen separately is "don't make me cry" in
copy book format) offers an insight into the creative process.
Much of it is rough sketches ... but by that don't expect stick
figures. These show just how much grace and eroticism a few lines
can convey. Two of the stories feature Yami with a lion's tail.
Interesting note: the title page for Duel at Spa (p 25) was later
used for the doujinshi Romantic Imperial Duel. The
spa material has a lot of upper body and cleverly placed balloons.

a story with Yami, Jouno, Kaiba and Malik. Not quite sure what's
going on here - Kaiba has what looks to be some sort of cyber-armor
mask over part of his face - but the first story DOES end with
a very saucy-looking Malik showing off his tattooed back.
Story 2: The school rooftop. Jouno has apparently just dispatched
several attackers, and Kaiba shows up. After some swaggering,
Jouno takes a swing at Kaiba, who stops him -- and then pulls
a gun. After some further discussion, Jouno gives Kaiba the finger.
(Not a good idea, as Kaiba has a tendency to take such suggestions
literally.) ….. Next is a strange little 4coma that starts
with a sort of argument between Yugi and Yami, and ends with Yoh
and Amidamaru of shaman King and Sai from HikaGo all looking puzzled
or annoyed... The third story has Yami and Pandora (Arkana for
you dub fans). Kaiba comes in, knocks Pandora out with a whack
from his briefcase, then decides to take advantage of the fact
that Yugi is locked into the leg iron ... Needless to say, Dark
Magician doesn't like what he sees from his cross. For some reason
Malik then appears, and has a chat with his old pal while Kaiba

involve a lot of yelling and posing. This is no exception, the
beginning is Kaiba in a hospital bed, some discussion. Jouno almost
comes in the room, seem sot over hear something, leaves. Then
Yami leaves. After three pages of silly 4-frame omake-like Kaiba
and Pegasus comics, the story picks up again with Kaiba showing
up at Domino High School with a bazooka or rocket launcher - perhaps
to take out Yami? It doesn't succeed. The interesting part of
this one, though, is the last piece, Heretic. Sent in AE, PriestKaiba
visits Yami (Atemu's) body, which is laid out on a slab. He seems
to be testing to see if Atemu is really dead -- or perhaps he's
in denial. After giving the corpse a hand job, he makes love to
it, then stabs it in the shoulder with the dagger hidden in the
Rod. After looking at the blood on his hands, he takes a poison
pill (?)from Atemu's mouth, pops it into his own, and then stabs

him away...Yami has flashbacks of him when he was a child with
Kaiba helping him, he realises Kaiba is nice, and lets Kaiba kiss
him.
There's also some kind of side plot involving child-Malik+Bakura
which pops up every so often, no idea what's happening there.

KaiYami, humour. This is another strange one - at school, Kaiba
seems angry at Yugi. Yugi seems to be flirting with him, and gives
him...a potplant. (possibly telling Kaiba it will grow another
Yugi? I'm not sure). Kaiba takes it home, waters it etc, and then
goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he's suprised to find Yami Yugi
sleeping next to him. (with the pot by him ^^;; ) Kaiba ignores
him for a bit...and reads a book, which I assume is an instruction
manual for the plant (?), since he blushes while reading it...and
then decides to give him a bath. He dries Y.Yugi off, puts him
to bed, reads more intructions, and then it starts with the kissing,
groping, and offscreen sex. (it actually all looks quite innocent
:P) When Kaiba wakes up the next morning, he tries to wake Y.Yugi
but gets a foot shoved in his face for his efforts - so he gets
angry, and goes and yells at Yugi. I assume he liked it really
though, as you see him keeping the pot and watering it again.

AE, KaiYamiJou. This one starts off as KaiYami - Pharaoh Yami
and Kaiba seem to be involved initially, one of the early scenes
is them having sex. Jounouchi is outside and hears them, and gets
very annoyed. (Since he's friends with Yami, I presume he dislikes
Kaiba here too) Kaiba exits the room and Jounouchi shouts at him
a bit, as I think he believes Kaiba is controlling Yami in some
way. (well, it's implied by a Yami in chains being showed) Kaiba
is suprisingly calm, and eventually just suddenly kisses Jounouchi,
who for some reason then remembers that they knew each other as
children. Kaiba walks off, leaving Jounouchi embarrassed and blushing,
and I assume deciding that he likes Kaiba after all. (RC)

The book also has several very nice "full page" portraits of the Yuugis, as well as the sleeping Kaiba and Yami shown on the sample page. (That's what earned this a 2 rather than a 1, BTW. Despite the pairings listed on the cover, there is no overt shonen ai content.) (A33)

After a few pages in the beginning with Mokuba
jumping his niisama, the main story picks up. After an extended
discussion with Yuugi, Yami is taken to the Kaiba mansion where
he and Kaiba talk, argue (of course) ... He has to pick one of
three cards Kaiba holds, (A Joker, the Ace of hearts, and a 4
of diamonds.) Yami picks the Ace of hearts, which for some reason
allows him to put his leather collar on Kaiba - who freaks out.
Yami takes it off, apologizes, and then kisses Kaiba. There is
some more freak out and then, I think Kaiba gets undressed and
offers himself to Yami. ... who certainly doesn't pass up the
opportunity. Kaiba seems rather distressed - yet passive ...
at the end, he does what Kaiba does so often in doujinshi - pulls
a gun. Perhaps though, this is just to get Yami to come back,
as he leaves with a smile. Kaiba seems wistful.
~ The semi-realistic style of this is of course not for
everyone - Yami and Yuugi have more or less "normal"
hair, and Kaiba is drawn unusually - but the bodies are muscular
and attractive. The very last page is of a grown-up Mokuba cradling
his brother. (A44)
B-House

••••••••••••••••••• The second of the "Bon-noh-oh"
("Carnal Desires King") series, you don't have to have
read the first volume ("turn") to enjoy this one. It
starts off with a bang, as Yami and Kaiba are in a hospital room.
(The infamous star pajamas are being worn, which means, it's post
"warehouse fire" - Yami is using Yuugi's body as Yuugi
sleeps.) Kaiba is tied up, and Yami is working some Game King
magic on him ... turns out the two are engaged in a "duel"
where the first one to come wins. (I thank my wonderful translator
for this explanation.) The fun and games go on for a while --
and of course they both "cheat." In the morning Yami
and Yuugi have a talk. The activity apparently helps Kaiba bring
repressed memories of being abused by Gozaburo to the surface.
The artwork style is offbeat. Yuugi and Yami's hair are
drawn realistically, and Kaiba is a little bit more muscular and
poutier than in the series. (A32)

Yami says (yeah, I'm making this up), "how about you put
the gun away and I'll just stick to a simple hand job?" ...
but then Yami gets carried away and reverts to his original plan.
After a brief break (Yami is actually shown going into the bathroom~!)
